No pictures on the Chevrolet website of a Chevy towing a Ford, but that’ll probably change when they see this.

To be honest, I’m not sure an aluminium bed is the way to go. If you’re one of the 5% of truck buyers that actually use it for work, heavy loads may bend an aluminium bed . A luminum makes sense for other parts though.

Right, but those 5% use bed liners that would protect against the punctures that the Chevy ads were highlighting. So really it’s fairly moot, the bed liner would also help with bending/denting.

Unless you mean frame bending (which the Colorado has had some problems with when used outside of intended design)

You’re buying into Chevy’s disi ngenuous marketing. When was the last time you’ve seen a new truck without a bedliner? And work trucks, I usually see those with thicc bedliners. Unless your job involves dropping safes at an angle into the bed, I’m sure the aluminum bed will be fine.

So the Colorado bends its frame and blows an airbag off in your face if you hit a bump too hard on a trail. I can see why the General is taking third in the truck wars right now.

I’m pretty sure he had too much tongue weight on his trailer, but still, they must have some tight safety factors.

Cute, but barely a dent in the GM trolling Ford on national television level.

Ford didn’t engage in that troll ing and seems to have only gained market share since then.

This little jab on a website is on the cute level of trolling, which I don’t mind.  Those GM commercials were and still are cringey to watch.

I would take a look down at your local CarMax to see all the fleet truck they bought at auction. Many of them have extremely scratched beds, so the liner was likely some kind of mat or they didn’t use one all the time. In my experience you could tell which truck were previously owned by a private party because they were much more likely to be spray lined.

Completely agree about the dropping safes though. Aluminum, of specified right, should be just fine for these truck intended use.

Id agree to a point but even now everyone is using a trailer for heavy things.

I can’t find the morning shift article that talks about how the usage of trailer has dramatically increased.

And with that you are using frame rails when done right

Tools, lots of tools.

It is actually the frame rails that bent, not the bed.
